Here we go again
this time - mixed feelings ..... too soon? But there is not right or wrong time.
this time - very easy - one tester (on Wed) and an appt to see gynae on saturday (in the past, we rushed down almost immediately) LOL. his comment - 4weeks and 5 days .... edd 21/10/2011
time time - no blood test as doc could see very clearly

Cravings for papa has set in .... LOL
While expecting Phoebe, I had wished for a third baby to be born in Oct and seems like I am getting my wish granted.
What do they do at home?
1. Watch Playhouse Disney from 8a.m. They are not totally tv junkie. They will only sit still when their favourite characters are on ...
2. Pretend play - pretending to help with washing, sweeping or making coffee .....
Caleb - at 30 months
This boy ....
1. talks a lot more now.
2. pretends to be little mammy, little daddy, little mama (grandma) etc
3. knows what will make us angry and will tell us - cannot touch this, cannot do that or else mammy/daddy will be angry ..... but after saying that, he proceeds to do what he is not supposed to do...
4. watches a lot more tv (elmo, thomas train, mickey mouse club house)
5. pretends to be his soft toy (e.g we have a mickey mouse wearing a scarf. he will take the scarf and be mickey mouse)
6. likes going to playgroup. will tell me what goes on in class (after questions from me)
7. likes 'mamee' mian, likes sweets ... always say 'take one only ok' but he meant take one at a time coz after the first one, he will ask for another. he also dares to take 'hot' sweets ... much to the amusement of the adults
8. is a crying bun now and his crying is very long-winded. This happens when he does not have sufficient sleep. From experience,I realised that patience is required to help him to calm down and let him run his course of crying bun act.
Phoebe's Attitude
it's 2011 and Phoebe is 1! (rhymes? ... so cheesy ... hahahaha)
i realised that with a january baby, how fast time flies gets magnified really big in your face ..... it seems like only yesterday that Phoebe was still a baby. Today, she is a toddler, with an attitude!
last night - she had difficulty falling asleep. after managing to make her lie down, she wants to put her fingers in my mouth - which i obliged. but after a while, i got tired and refused to do her bidding. she threw a hissy fit and refused to be calmed down until i passed her bunny to her (which she hugged tightly) and carried her and put her in her 'yao lan'. She fell asleep shortly and I saw that she put her thumb in her mouth ...
this girl ... is going to be a handful .....
Welcoming Phoebe
Time flies ... and I am super busy.
Phoebe Casilda Kwee joined us on 7 Jan 2010, weighing 3.1kg at 1 plus pm.
This time round, Mummy decides to take things easier.
What I did:
1. More relaxed. While waiting to be cut opened, I was still 'facebooking', telling friends my status. LOL.
2. After I woke up from my sleep, I only asked - where is Mei Mei, saw a pic of her and went back to sleep.
3. When nurses asked if I want to latch her on on Day 1, I said no, probably tomorrow and went back to sleep. *Yea - that is the effect of the drug - drifting in and out of sleep.
4. We left her with the nurses most of the time and did not insist that she roomed in with us.
5. Enjoyed the food that the hospital served. Yes, my appitete was better second time round.
6. Played bejeweled or surfed on my iphone.
7. Stayed in a two bedder. Hubby wanted a single bed-room but no room was available. Might as well - there is someone to talk to. It isn't so bad and it is cheaper.
During the hospital stay, I realised that my gynae is not so bad. At least he bothers to ask / shows concern about my well-being. And his stitching skills is great. I managed to get rid of the previous ugly c-sec scar and it is not replaced with one that is beautifully sewn. ha ha ha . Maybe he is always cutting people up and thus, the good sewing skill. ;)
During my stay at the hospital, I had two room-mates. The first one - her gynae seems super busy and didn't really ask much. The second room mate had to undergo emergency c-sec as her baby's umbilical cord was round her neck. Hence, she had given birth a month earlier. She shared with me how the gynae reacted when she complained of pains - he didn't ordered any scan on her and the pain went on for a week. If it had been my gynae, he would have asked me to go to his clinic for a scan. When the gynae came to check on her, he seems to be in a hurry to go off and just gave curt reply to her question like 'doc, is there anything to increase my milk supply'. His reply was 'there is nothing for you to eat / drink to increase milk supply'.
Hearing these, I was glad that my gynae is not like this.
Here we go again .... nearly 20 months later
Yes ... the difference?
We used only one tester (and a cheaper version) and a blood test at the gynae's clinic ... as compared to us going through this the first time
So, on the 12/5/2009, we were told that I am about 3 - 5 weeks pregnant. Doc wasn't so sure on the number of weeks and so, he ordered a blood test. During this time, 2nd baby kwee is about 0.4cm big ...
On 16/5/2009, we went back to see the doc ... he said that number 2 is about 4 weeks old and he is now 0.98cm long ... yes, during this time, I am constantly hungry and in a span of 5 days, I have put on 0.5kg ... I hope all goes well ...
We can't decide which gynae to use and I was torn between going to the first one (yes, the one who insisted that I go through the c-section before the edd) or the second one (supposedly more patient/supportive but not as kia see as the first) ... In the end, out of sheer need for convenience and also cost, I opted for the first. The check-up went well and he warned that since number 2 came quite soon after Caleb, chances of me going through another c-section is high... well, I am glad he told me this upfront and I think I know my body better now - unless I build up my stamina, I do not know if I got the stamina to go through a labour ... anyway, that is ten months down the road. If he is 'naughty', I will probably change gynae again ...
Thing(s) I want to change -
So far, things are still pretty alright. I can still taste the food without experiencing any funny after taste as compared to when I was having Caleb. I just started to swim and hopefully, this will be part of my exercise regime throughout this pregnancy ... just get the body ready. This was something that I did not do due to constant fatigue and puking-ness ...
Maybe sign up for massage ... body is not young anymore. Especially my back :( maybe I should ask auntie hawa to give me massage ... :)
Thinking hard if I should get a confinement nanny ... looking at the EDD, it would be around CNY and I think my mum would be busy and my bro may be out-stationed. So there is no one to ferry her to my house each morning, unlike when she did the confinement for me when Caleb was born ...
Maid? Hmmm, the thought is still not appealing ... maybe I will embrace the thought after a ton of unwashed laundry / unironed clothes fell upon me ...
the next visit to the doc is on the 6/6/2009 ....
