Journey thus far ...

Yes .... mummy and baby kwee have finally progressed to week 40 :)

during this time, mummy and papa kwee had fought off ah tho, who had insisted that we delivered baby kwee by c-section on 21/6/2008 ... his reason is that baby kwee is in transverse lie position, mummy's placenta is low lying and the op is going to be dangerous and mummy has to go for c-section with GA! there goes all our desire for natural birth down the drain ...

even though mummy requested for time to think about it, ah tho said that he cannot wait ... duh!!!

thankfully, papa kwee insisted that we should seek a second opinion and hence, we went to see ah. paul ... ah paul is quite nice - he tried to turn baby kwee to a head down position - well, he went down but he came up again ...

on the next visit, we told ah paul that baby kwee has turned back and is still in transverse lie position ... ah paul kept quiet abt it but he is supportive ... he said, let's wait and see what happened ...

so, on the 38th week visit, we went back - baby kwee is still transverse and ah paul tried to turn him again ...and down he went but shortly later, he came up ... (I think baby kwee is trying to be funny here) ...

last week (week 39), we met ah paul again ... and i think he is 'disturbed' as to why baby kwee kept turning back to his usual position (hmm, from what i had gathered, babies after going through ECV - the process of turning him downwards - usually do not go back to their previous position unless there is some reason). he had earlier suggested that he turned the baby and then induced me but looking at how fast baby kwee turned back, i think we both know that this option is not viable and since we are nearing the 40 weeks and ah paul will be away from the 7th to 14th ... i think we both felt that it is best that we get him out via c-section... after all, i dun want to risk both our lives that my water bag burst before the contraction comes (implication is that the umbilical cord will drop out first)and get outselves into the unnecessary situation of an emergency delivery ...and ah paul not being around ...

but even though we are doing c-section, he is still supportive of natural birth ... coz he said we can do c-section with epidural so that papa kwee can participate in the labour process :)(hmmm, i think i will change my birth plan ...)

next up will be the date of the delivery ... he let me chose the day as he said he does operation every other day ... and so, we decided on 3/7/08 ... i guess it can't be a more perfect timing ... and on the 2/7/08, we arranged to have him take a look at baby kwee - yea, hoping that baby kwee will turn head down on 2/7/08 ... haha

hmm, do pray for us .... i am now getting into the seat of a roller coaster ride ... hahahaha

p.s i am happy that we had held on for so long ... hmm, the rest of the matters, i just leave it to God to guide us through ....
