Little Habits of Baby Caleb @ 6 Weeks Plus

quirky habits of baby caleb ...

he doesn't really like pacifier ... he prefers the REAL thing for now at least ...

he likes to sleep on one side of his head TILL that side of the head is FLAT while the other side is round (we are trying hard to correct this bad habit of his...)

he gets really impatient with his parents who are sometimes CLUELESS about what he wants ... (come on - eat is represented by eh, change diaper is represented by eh, sleep is also represented by eh) ... haha after a while, we sort of know (by elimination method!)

he sleeps while on car rides (just like mummy) - good for mummy who does not have to carry him :)

he listens attentively when daddy talks to him ... or will quieten down when daddy pat pat him ...

he does not like to drink warm water - so we just give him water from the kettle ...

when he knows that we are going out, he will insist that we change his diaper - even though we had changed it an hour ago and there is only little urine/little or no poo (it happened once!)

he smiles when we tickled his mouth ...

he sits up straight when we tickled his back ...

he still wakes up in the middle of the night for his feeds ... but he doesn't drink the full volume ... sometimes 2 oz, sometimes 3 ... we are still waiting for the day that he will sleep through the night ...

he wakes his parents up ... on the dot... at 730am ... without fail

he has a perfect sense of timing ... wakes up every 2 - 3 hourly ...

sometimes when he cries non-stop, offering him milk from the source soothes him and puts him to sleep :)

visit to the doc ...

Caleb is now 6 weeks old, 5.5kg and 58cm tall ...

Yesterday, we brought him for his 2nd hep B jab ... the doc first held on to his two little hands and he asked mama to hold on to him ... then he asked daddy to sing a song to distract baby caleb ... all these happened so fast and unsuspectingly, baby caleb was looking around, wondering why there are so many people hovering around him - 4 (doc, nurse, papa n mama) ... before he knew it, the jab was given to him on his right thigh ... he let out a loud cry ... wahhhh.... hmm, i got to carry him and pacify him ... thankfully, he still had some unfinished milk ... so that was used to comfort him ... ")

as he is still a bit yellow, doc suggested doing blood test to see if his liver is functioning properly ... as he mentioned that jaundice would usually clear up by the 4th week ... so after paying for the consultation etc, we proceeded to level 4 for his blood test ...

this time, the lady did not take 5 drops of blood but the took a little test tube of blood ... poor caleb was wailing his guts out each time she squeeze blood out from the back of this little right foot ... this time round, papa had stand by pacifier to console him ... he was wailing so loudly in the room that i think all the people outside could hear him ") ... thankfully, the pacificer managed to soothe him ... i put him back to his sarong sling and we proceed to visit doc. paul for my follow up ...
