The boy's name Caleb \c(a)-leb\ is pronounced KAY-leb. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "dog". Biblical: Caleb, a companion of Moses and Joshua, was noted for his astute powers of observation and fearlessness in the face of overwhelming odds; his devotion to God is symbolized by the "dog" in some traditions. The name was popular among the Puritans, and was introduced by them to America. Author Caleb Carr.
The boy's name Oliver \o-li-ver\ is pronounced AH-lih-ver. It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is "olive tree". Name of one of Charlemagne's knights in the 12th-century poem "Chanson de Roland". Today "extending an olive branch" traditionally signifies an offer of peace. Literary: the title character in Dickens' "Oliver Twist". Film director Oliver Stone; actor Oliver Platt.

Baby Kwee @ 22 weeks
Had my detailed scan on 26/2/2008 … a Tuesday morning
Prior to this scan, I thought that the doc will need to use a special equipment to do the scan as we were told that we can only do this scan on a weekday …
It turns out that a weekday is a better day to do the scan as there will be less patient at the clinic and Dr. Tho can take his time to show us and check through baby kwee’s development …
He started with the head, taking measurements, showing the face – especially the mouth to make sure that there is no cleft lips, where the eyes would be. He just moved the ‘mouse’ over my tummy to show us different parts of baby kwee …
For me, I just followed what he said coz some of the parts do not look so clear to me…. But dearie, he can follow and even ask the doc questions – is this blah blah blah …
I asked him, how can you tell? He replied – you just need to be a little more observant and with a bit of imagination, you can tell … OK … implying that I do not have both traits…
Scanning through baby kwee’s hands and legs, Dr. Tho said is a rather cool tone – did I tell you that it is a boy?
Duh … both me and dearie went silent … didn we say that we want to be kept in the dark? Hahaha
Anyway, it is good to know the gender of baby kwee – so that we can start thinking of names :)
At the end of the scan, ah Tho said that all is well … and baby kwee weighs about 500gm … yup – 500gm at about 22 weeks.
p.s oh yes, baby kwee was very active when Dr. Tho was doing the scan. i can feel him moving inside me... probably he knows what was going one ... haha
Baby Kwee
ever since we know that the little baby inside me is a boy ... we, or at least, papa has been thinking about names...
so far, on the list ...
1. oliver
2. caleb ...
3. cohen (by mama) hahaha
nothing is firmed yet ... we are still thinking (am i?) hahaha...
i am thinking - who to ask to be the godparent(s) ...
21 weeks ...
Going into the 5th mth of being preggie … so far so good …
I have felt the baby’s movement during the CNY week …. Er, that is about week 19 : ) just light tremors for mum to feel baby inside …. Nothing dramatic yet … so papa can only asked – bb kicked you? Ahaha… that is something that men dun get it. :P
Craving-wise, nothing very strong … just an occasional craving for scissor rice, nuts and 100-plus … noticed that my food intake changed as well … I like my food a little spicy …
Hmmm, a long list of things waiting to be done …
1.get a confinement nanny …. Didn’t want to get one initially but after thinking through and asking around, I think we better get one …. But from where?
2.baby stuff – stroller, pumps etc, baby’s room … all UNDONE! And what the only thing I thought of doing is to do a cross-stitch for baby’s room … hahahaha
3.baby’s name … so far, no inspiration yet ..
4.baby’s godparent … so far, no inspiration yet …
5.there is probably a long list of things waiting to be done and it’s just that we have not realized it … :P
Physical Changes
.... realised that I have been complaining about puke-puke days ... ok, something for a change (though the puke-puke days are still hanging around....)
... Physical Changes
1. I can see the bump ... it gets more obvious after evening ... probably due to the bloating and the food i ate during the day ... hee hee ...can't wait for the bump to grow bigger ...
2. stretch marks ... er, i see that my skin is being stretched ... and for a while, I layed off on body lotion but no.... my skin became very crinkled ... esp the arms and legs ... so I am now using Johnson n Johnson ... if it is good on baby, it should be ok for adults ... but for the tummy area, i am sticking to what the doc gave me ....
3. Bloated breasts ... well, i supposed the body is preparing them for breast-feeding at a later stage ...
Food Cravings
Food cravings …
One night, I was craving for mee rebus, mee soto and vegetarian bee hoon … I think I must be dreaming but the taste and the smell of these food seemed so real ….
Another night, I was watching TV with dearie … then this ang mo whipped up a burger … at that moment, the craving for a cheese burger striked me … we ordered a cheese burger from Mac .. was told that the waiting time will be an hour .. ok ..i’ll wait but it was pretty late and I was very tired …. In the end, the burger only arrived two hours later and we had already called back to cancel my order …. *bumpers….
The next day, I went to a Mac drive-thru to get my Cheeseburger … it was raining heavily and I am not really sure of my way back home … nevertheless, I did not eat the cheeseburger as I went and had porridge with Dearie at Long House …
Tomorrow, I am going to have my vegetarian bee hoon …. *yippee*
Thankfully, I have not reached the stage that "I die die want to eat that food" yet ... *keeping fingers crossed*
Counting ...
Going into my 11 weeks of being pregnant ….
And yesterday, I was happily telling dearie that I had stopped burping gas for two mornings … I take it as a good sign – that I am finally climbing out from the ‘morning’ sickness …
Lo and behold … the morning burp came back this morning … duh ….
Looking on the positive side – I see it as a reminder that I have another life inside me and these burp, burp, puke-puke days will probably only end when the tummy is more visible …
